Make a Monetary Donation to the Fund for Shane and David Smith
Dear Wildcats Family:
Recently, two members of our Wildcats family, Shane and David Smith, suffered an unimaginable tragedy. They lost both of their parents over the course of one weekend. The boys' father passed away on a Friday, and their mother passed the next day.
Shane and David are both freshmen at LBJ High School. Shane is 14 and David is 16. Last year, they played for Chico Vazquez on the 8th Grade Silver Wildcats Team and Julio Villaneda on the 8th Grade Gus Garcia Middle School basketball team. They have three older sisters, Sara, Stephanie, and Leslie. Leslie, who is 26, will be caring for the boys.
As you can imagine, it is impossible to prepare for such a sudden tragedy and newfound responsibility. Wildcats is helping the Smiths cope with this tragedy. Chico and Julio have been by the house numerous times. The Wildcats team parents have brought them food and other necessities. And Wildcats is setting up an account to help Leslie with the costs of raising the boys.
Wildcats Board Member Tim Klitch has set up an account at Comerica Bank that will automatically transfer funds to a debit card each month to help Leslie pay expenses of raising her brothers. We are asking the Wildcats family to fill a small part of the void left by this monumental loss by contributing to this account.
One hundred percent of all donations will go directly to benefit Shane and David Smith.
